Thank You to Our Vets on Veterans Day
From all of us at Complete Power Wash in Hagerstown, MD, we say “Thank you” to all of the military veterans for your service to our country. And for those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom, we are forever indebted to you and your families for your sacrifice.
Did You Know: Originally, Veterans Day was called “Armistice Day,” and the date was chosen to commemorate the signing of the armistice with Germany that ended hostilities during World War I. At first, the focus of Armistice Day was on the veterans of World War I, though it was always meant to honor all veterans of foreign wars, who risked their lives on the battle field to secure the freedoms of all Americans. Over time, with the passing away of the World War I generation and the coming of new conflicts during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, the focus on the 1918 Armistice was lost and the name of the holiday was changed.
Congress also made November 11th a day of prayer and thanksgiving and expressed a desire that the U.S. flag be on display during this day and that special ceremonies be held. Finally, in 1938, Armistice Day became a permanent, official public holiday.
Today, Veterans Day is generally regarded as honoring all those who ever served in the U.S. Armed Force rather than only those who actually fought in a war.

Fall Foliage Brings Dirt to Houses
Everyone loves the colorful Fall foliage of Western Maryland, but as the leaves dry up and drop, they bring lots of dirt onto the roofs and siding of houses in the Tri-State.
The dirt that comes with the leaves can be easily cleaned by the “softwash” technique used by the professional cleaners at Complete Power Wash. This technique uses lower-than-usual water pressure and environmentally-friendly detergents. This is perfect for cleaning thoroughly, without the threat of damaging surfaces, especially to a home’s protective exterior.
We also encourage homeowners to clear the fallen leaves from roofs and gutters. If these are left for too long, the moisture can build up and cause algae, which can
breakdown shingles and cause water backups in gutters. This would likely lead to mold issues behind siding, affecting interior walls and causing health problems for those living inside.
If you would like to schedule us to clean your home after the last leaf has fallen and been bagged, please contact us by clicking here.
Complete Power Wash services residents and businesses throughout the Tri-State area, including Hagerstown, Clean Spring, Boonsboro, Smithsburg and Funkstown in Maryland; Greencastle, Waynesboro and State Line in Pennsylvania; and Falling Waters and Martinsburg in West Virginia.
Don’t Hire a Cheap Pressure Wash Company
When people hire a “cheap” or “inexpensive” pressure wash company, they generally get what they pay for, which is NOT good.
Complete Power Wash thinks you should get the best service for a fair price. While we do compete against pressure washing companies that offer “cheap prices,” we know that our experience and commitment to customer satisfaction will be the best decision for homeowners in the Tri-State (Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia) area.
Contact Tim Fields today and he can explain the benefits of using a company that features the softwash technique of gentle detergents and low water pressure. This technique is best for cleaning without damaging surfaces or removing paint.
Pressure Washing Season is Winding Down
The time to pressure wash is now, before cold weather moves in to the Tri-State
Well the craziness that is summer is over and now as the fall season starts, the clock is ticking toward Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. And right in there is where pressure washing season officially ends, depending on when Old Man Winter comes for his long stay.
This is why we encourage folks to schedule roof, siding and concrete “softwash” cleanings with us now, while the sun is still warm and before the trick-or-treaters arrive at your front door.
Since pressure washing does require quite a bit of water, we like to know that a short time after the job is done, the sun will have plenty of time to dry surfaces completely. This ensures the best result of our work and the look of your dwelling.
It is also a great time to start prepping for the holiday. Clean walkways and siding, reflecting the glow of the jack o’ lanterns and then Christmas lights. We all take pride in making our home just right for visitors and this is the time of year when they arrive in droves.
Contact Tim Fields asap to schedule your softwash cleaning. Softwash is a combination of gentle detergents and low-pressure water technique to effectively clean surfaces with damaging the surfaces.

The professional pressure washers at Complete Power Wash hope you and your family have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend!
Did You Know: Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. This year it is September 5th. The holiday honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Beginning in the late 19th century, as the trade union and labor movements grew, trade unionists proposed that a day be set aside to celebrate workers. In 1887, Oregon was the first state of the United States to make it an official public holiday. By the time it became an official federal holiday in 1894, thirty U.S. states officially celebrated Labor Day.
Canada’s Labour Day is also celebrated on the first Monday of September. More than 80 countries celebrate International Workers’ Day on May 1 – the ancient European holiday of May Day – and several countries have chosen their own dates for Labour Day.

Clean Gutters Make a Healthy Home
Clean Gutters Make a Home Beautiful AND Healthy
Clean Gutters by Complete Power Wash
Most people go in and out of their home and rarely notice whether it even has gutters on it. Most sit in the cozy dwelling on stormy nights, never thinking about the amount of water falling on the roof. They don’t think about it, that is, until the gutters back up or rust through and allow the water to flood a basement or promote the growth of fungi on or in the interior walls.
The professionals at Complete Power Wash know how important it is to keep gutters clean and functioning at a high level. This is why they offer gutter cleaning as part of their service. They know that mildew and other fungi can cause health risks, such as severe allergies that result in respiratory distress. Among the worst problems can be the triggering of an asthma attack in someone afflicted with the condition. For most, it is simply the need to get medical assistance from an inhaler, while the more severe cases can cause hospitalization or even death.
In addition to having a healthy home, pressure washing gutters — using CPW’s softwash technique of gentle detergents and low water pressure — is a simple way to make a house really shine. Many of the same homeowners who never notice the gutters are usually amazed how much clean gutters make the house look beautiful from the curb.
